5 Days of Coach Skills Training
Lesson One: Creating the “Sandbox”
Welcome to your first lesson in laying the foundation for meaningful coaching conversations. Today, we begin with one of the most essential starting points: creating the sandbox.
Before any real exploration can begin — before questions are asked or insights uncovered — we must first establish the boundaries and shared intention that will hold the conversation. This co-created container becomes the ground from which trust, clarity, and transformation can grow. When done well, it invites openness and presence, setting the tone for deep, aligned exploration to unfold.

Step 2:
Watch the next video called, creating the sandbox where Taryn and Michelle guide you through the foundational practice of “creating the sandbox” — a powerful way to establish a clear and safe container for the coaching conversation. They explain why this step is essential for both coach and client, and share how to do it with clarity, intention, and care so the session is set up for real, meaningful transformation.
Inner reflection prompt
As deeply reflective beings, we’re always inside of something — a thought, a challenge, a question, a desire. Today, take a few moments to turn inward and consider:
If you were being coached today, what topic would naturally rise to the surface?
What would success look or feel like for you in that conversation? In other words, what would you hope to walk away with by the end of your session?
Coming up tomorrow
We’ll move from the sandbox into the heart of the coaching conversation. Stay tuned for Lesson Two.
